Torch Bearer Oath

To my goddess and Lady Hekate, Mistress of the Crossroads, I do swear this most solemn Oath:

As a Torch Bearer I commit myself to re-creating and rediscovering your Mysteries and sharing them with the world. Those who are called to Your Rites will be welcomed by me as Sisters and Brothers in love and respect.

I commit myself to putting aside the petty wants of the ego and keeping my heart and mind open to Your Will and Your Wisdom.

I commit myself to walking the Path of the Mystic. I will dance to the music of the Universe in celebration of the wonder and beauty that is all around us. I will treat my fellow beings with compassion, sharing Your Light with the World by living Your Path in all that I do.

In Love and Joy I declare myself dedicated to You, most wonderful Mistress of Earth, Sea, and Sky, and with awe do I pick up Your flame and carry the Torch of Wisdom.

With my hand do I affix my signature on this Twelfth day of June, Two Thousand and Thirteen of the Common Era. En Erebos, Phos!

acecups2icon.jpgPlease, call me Tink! I am an ordained minister and founder of the Sanctuary and Temple of Hekate Einalian. My roots are in feminist witchcraft and that is where The Boss, as I lovingly call Hekate, found me. The Mystai of the Moon (the priestess school branch of the Temple) was founded in 2008 as a feminist witchcraft circle devoted to the pursuit of the Lunar Mysteries. Our work with those Mysteries brought Hekate into my life and I have never looked back since the night She first showed up to let me know She required my Service. It was that work that also led me to Sorita and to contribute to Hekate Her Sacred Fires. I have been a member of CoH pretty much since the beginning, and I have had the honour of being a Torchbearer since 2013 as well as a Keybearer.

Since 2010, the Mystai have done a retreat every August during the Perseid meteor shower to celebrate Hekate's Mysteries. One of the main foci of our work as a group is researching, creating, and evolving these Mystery practices and teaching via the School of the Zerynthian Mysteries. This school has been offering a Priestess Path in the Mystery Tradition since 2011 and is adding a new Path, The Kouros Path, for men who wish to learn about and grow the male side of this Mystery Tradition, beginning in February 2025. We also teach on many other topics.

2015 saw the culmination of my heart’s work The Hekate Tarot, a devotional project which I co-created with a Sister Priestess in the Mystai. This deck is entirely focused on the symbols and epithets of Hekate. I am also the author of The Dance of the Mystai which was first published in 2009. I am currently working on a couple new projects involving Hekate and her manifestations in the modern world.

In 2020, I earned a B.Sc. from Purdue University Northwest and work in the liminal spaces of the online world as a network engineer guarding and maintaining the network edge environment where the wild west of the internet meets the internal network of my employer. No matter where I go, it seems Hekate finds a way to put me where realms meet.

I can frequently be found at events in the greater Chicago area reading and teaching tarot.
